The Young Jazz Composers program is a mentorship opportunity for students to learn how to compose for and interact with professional Jazz musicians. Students in YJC explore composition techniques with a mentor, learn how to input their score and parts into a music software program, and workshop their piece with our musicians. At the end of the program, our musicians perform the students’ composition in front of a live audience.
$800 Commission Music
PJCE’s mission is to create and perform original jazz music that engages and supports our community’s diverse artists, cultures and place. You can make that happen by covering the cost of one new piece!
$1500 Produce an Album
PJCE Records releases the most creative jazz form Portland, Oregon. With a deep affection for adventurious expression, we record and distribute jazz by Portland-based composers to audiences in our hometown and across the world with captivatin graphic design and an artist-friendly business model.
$5000 Produce a Concert
PJCE Concerts have a big impact and a big lift! Help us produce a full ensemble show in any upcoming season by covering the musician’s pay for rehearsals and performance.

Donor Advised Funds
A Donor Advised Fund (DAF) is centralized vehicle for charitable giving that makes it easy for donors to dedicate funds to support their favorite nonprofit organization. It also provides an operationally convenient and tax-efficient method for donors to manage their charitable giving. Clients of Fidelity Charitable, Schwab Charitable, and BNY Mellon can easily make a designation through their advisor.
Gifts of Stocks/Securities
The donation of appreciated securities may be a great option for those looking for tax deductions and opportunities in regard to capital gains tax.
