Our PJCE Online series continues as Double Dash, Machado Mijiga (drums) and Dario LaPoma (keyboards), take the audience behind the scenes as they workshop original compositions for an upcoming album project.
The event will be free and open to all, with a suggested donation of $5 to 25 that you can make in Facebook during the stream or after.
This duo crafts its repertoire in a collaborative composition process that they use to develop fragments of music into full pieces. PJCE will record video and audio of a private session at The 1905, and will present that video in a live watch party, with the musicians joining PJCE Executive Director Douglas Detrick via livestream for an interactive question and answer session with the audience immediately following the live online watch party.
The musicians will work through several compositions, testing variations in real time. The audience should expect to hear different versions of the same bits of musical material played with different goals in mind each time that the musicians will discuss, inviting the viewers into their creative process. All musicians and technicians present at the recording session will wear masks and maintain social distance.
