Pianist/composer Kerry Politzer performs an evening of old and new compositions with drummer Charlie Doggett, bassist Jon Lakey, trumpeter Thomas H Barber, saxophonist Joe Manis, and special guest Ryan Meagher on guitar. Music will include songs from Below the Surface, Politzer’s 2014 album on PJCE Records, as well as brand-new explorations. A graduate of the New England Conservatory of Music, Politzer (Kerry Politzer Music) has been teaching jazz piano improvisation and composition at Portland State University since 2013. She currently leads Bossa PDX Portland’s classic bossa nova and Brazilian jazz band.
